IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said Iran would continue what he called “punishing” the United States until Tehran’s seven conditions are fulfilled. He also claimed Iranian missiles could defeat U.S. multilayered air-defence systems.

Iranian officials have said the conditions have been communicated to Washington through mediators, including Pakistan and Qatar. Not all seven have been publicly disclosed in full, but officials have identified several elements:

  • An end to warfare/hostilities on all fronts.
  • An end to the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian vessels and ports.
  • Release of Iran’s frozen assets.
  • Lifting of U.S. sanctions.
  • Withdrawal of U.S. military forces from around Iran.
  • Compensation for war-related damage.
  • Conditions concerning regional conflicts and Iran’s security interests.

The Strait of Hormuz is central to the dispute. Iran has linked reopening the waterway to acceptance of its conditions, while a recent Reuters report said Tehran had offered to reopen it within a week if Washington reduced military pressure and lifted its blockade.
