U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that future peace talks with Iran can be conducted over the phone, signaling a shift away from traditional in-person diplomacy. He emphasized that the United States would no longer send delegations abroad for negotiations.

“We have all the cards. If they want to talk, they can come to us, or they can call us,” Trump said, making it clear that Iran can initiate contact if it is serious about dialogue.

The remarks come after Trump canceled a planned visit by U.S. envoys to Pakistan, where discussions with Iranian officials were expected to take place. The decision reflects his preference for quicker, remote communication rather than lengthy diplomatic travel.

Despite this change in approach, indirect diplomatic efforts continue, with Iran’s foreign minister visiting regional countries, including Pakistan, to keep negotiations alive. However, no formal breakthrough has been achieved so far.

Trump also reiterated that any potential agreement would require Iran to abandon ambitions of developing nuclear weapons, a condition the U.S. considers non-negotiable.
