During his official visit to China, Asif Ali Zardari expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in expanding collaboration with China in seed technology, agricultural research, and modern farming practices.
In meetings with senior Chinese leadership, including Communist Party officials in Hunan province, President Zardari emphasized the importance of enhancing practical cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, education, health, and trade. He highlighted that strengthening agricultural innovation could significantly improve productivity and food security in Pakistan.
The president also pointed to Hunan’s expertise in agricultural technology and invited Chinese stakeholders to explore joint ventures and knowledge-sharing initiatives. He underlined opportunities for expanding bilateral trade in agricultural machinery, minerals processing, and information technology.
Reaffirming the long-standing ties between the two countries, President Zardari described Pakistan-China relations as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, rooted in mutual trust and people-to-people connections. He also invited Chinese leadership to visit Pakistan as both countries prepare to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
In addition to agricultural cooperation, President Zardari visited Sany Heavy Industry in Changsha, where he explored opportunities for collaboration in industrial technology, infrastructure development, and clean energy solutions. He stressed the need for partnerships in modern manufacturing, skill development, and technology transfer to support Pakistan’s economic growth.
Chinese officials reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan, particularly under regional development initiatives, expressing confidence that bilateral ties would continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
