Daily Dusk , March 5, 2026 -Mumbai — India national cricket team defeated England national cricket team by seven runs in a high-scoring semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Thursday, booking their place in the final against New Zealand national cricket team.
Playing at the packed Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India posted a massive total of 253-7 after being asked to bat first. In response, England fought hard but finished on 246-7, falling just short of what would have been a record run chase.
India’s innings was anchored by Sanju Samson, who smashed an explosive 89 runs to lay the foundation for the huge total. He shared a 97-run partnership with Ishan Kishan for the second wicket before Kishan was dismissed for 48.
Later, Shivam Dube added quick runs with a 43 off 25 balls, while Hardik Pandya scored 27 off 12 balls and Tilak Varma struck a rapid 21 off just seven deliveries to push India beyond the 250 mark.
