Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has denied media reports claiming he sought to restart nuclear negotiations with the United States.
In a message posted on X, Larijani stated unequivocally that Iran would not engage in talks with Washington.
His response followed a report by The Wall Street Journal alleging that he had pursued backchannel efforts through Omani intermediaries after the reported killing of Ali Khamenei. Larijani’s statement appears aimed at firmly rebutting those claims and signalling Tehran’s continued refusal to negotiate under current circumstances.
