Paris, Berlin, London, March 2, 2026 — France, Germany, and the United Kingdom have said they are prepared to take defensive action to protect their interests and those of allies in the Gulf as tensions with Iran escalate.
In a joint statement, the leaders condemned Iran’s recent missile attacks as indiscriminate and disproportionate, noting that some strikes targeted countries not involved in earlier US and Israeli operations.
The statement added that the three nations are ready to take necessary measures to stop Iran from launching missiles and drones, stressing that their actions would remain defensive and aimed at maintaining regional security.
The announcement comes after Iranian attacks on a military base in Kuwait killed three US soldiers and seriously wounded five others, according to US Central Command. US President Donald Trump said the strikes on Iran would continue until Washington achieves its objectives.
