University of Karachi has announced that all morning classes will be conducted online during the last Ashra of the holy month of Ramadan. The decision has been taken to facilitate students facing transportation difficulties following the recent increase in petroleum prices.
According to a notification issued by the registrar’s office, the new arrangement will take effect from Monday, 09 March 2026, and will continue until the end of Ramadan. Under this decision, students will attend their morning classes through online platforms instead of coming to the campus.
The university administration stated that the move has been made keeping in view the convenience of students during the third Ashra of Ramadan, when many people increase religious activities and transportation becomes more difficult, particularly after the rise in fuel prices.
The notification further said that the decision has been taken with the approval of the Vice Chancellor. Copies of the notification have been circulated to all concerned departments and officials for implementation.
