Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has issued a strong anti-war message, recalling the 2003 invasion of Iraq and warning against repeating what he described as past mistakes.
In a statement shared on social media, Sánchez said the world, Europe and Spain had already experienced the consequences of what he called an “illegal war” in the Middle East that resulted in insecurity and suffering. He stressed that the international community must reject violations of international law and avoid believing that military force can resolve global conflicts.
The Spanish leader emphasized that history should serve as a lesson, urging governments not to repeat previous errors that led to instability and human cost. Concluding his remarks with a firm stance, Sánchez declared “No to war,” signaling Spain’s opposition to further military escalation amid rising global tensions.
