Karachi, February 17, 2026: Under the direction of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Sindh School Education Department has made the details of the school-specific budget publicly accessible on its official website.
According to the available document , the total budget is Rs 18,671.13 Millions for 34, 106 schools of the province .
This initiative, part of the minister’s broader transparency and accountability drive, provides parents, teachers, and community members with a clear view of how funds are allocated to individual schools across the province.
The release of school-specific budgets also complements the recently launched Cluster Hub Schools programme, which seeks to optimize resource allocation, improve teaching quality, and reduce disparities between urban and rural schools. Analysts say the transparency initiative could help curb misuse of funds and boost public trust in the education system.
Parents and civil society members have welcomed the development, noting that access to detailed budget information allows them to hold schools accountable and advocate for improvements where needed. The Education Department plans to update the online budget portal annually to reflect allocations and expenditures in real-time.
