WASHINGTON / TEHRAN: The United States has announced a $10 million reward for information on key Iranian leaders, including the newly appointed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, through its Department of State Rewards for Justice programme. The move comes amid intensifying military and political tensions between Washington and Tehran.
US officials said the reward targets “Iranian terrorist leaders” who are believed to be involved in orchestrating attacks against US interests. Informants providing credible information may also qualify for relocation assistance to the United States.
The announcement coincides with warnings from US Defence authorities that upcoming strikes on Iran could be the heaviest since the conflict began, signaling an escalation in military operations. President Donald Trump emphasized that the campaign would continue “until I feel it”, underscoring Washington’s determination to achieve its strategic objectives.
Analysts warn that the reward and accompanying military measures mark a significant intensification of US pressure on Iran, potentially fueling further instability in the region. Meanwhile, Tehran has not publicly confirmed any injury to Mojtaba Khamenei, and Iranian authorities continue to assert that the country’s leadership structure remains intact despite ongoing hostilities.
The US military is reportedly deploying additional forces, including Marines and amphibious ships, to the Middle East, reflecting the seriousness with which Washington is pursuing both intelligence-gathering and potential combat operations.
This development further escalates an already volatile situation in the Middle East, with potential repercussions for regional security, global energy markets, and international diplomacy.
