The United Arab Emirates announced that its air defence systems were activated after a barrage of ballistic missiles was launched from Iran, prompting immediate defensive measures across the country.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that its forces were intercepting incoming missiles and monitoring the situation closely. Authorities stressed that the military remains on full alert to counter any threats targeting the nation’s territory.
The ministry said the armed forces are maintaining “complete readiness” to safeguard national security and ensure the safety of both citizens and residents.
The latest missile incident comes amid escalating regional tensions following the military confrontation that began on February 28, when United States and Israel launched strikes against Iranian targets. Since then, countries seen as aligned with Israel—including the UAE—have faced repeated attacks linked to the widening conflict.
Security analysts warn that continued missile exchanges risk drawing more regional states into the crisis, raising concerns about a broader Middle East confrontation.
