Iran has announced that a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), General Ali Mohammad Naeini, has been martyred amid ongoing military strikes, according to Iranian state media.
The slain general served as the spokesperson of the IRGC and was considered a key figure in communicating the military’s stance during the escalating regional conflict. Reports indicate that he was killed in an airstrike, in what appears to be part of intensified attacks involving the United States and Israel.
According to officials, General Naeini had recently issued strong statements asserting Iran’s military readiness and warning adversaries of a forceful response. His death comes at a critical moment as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East, with multiple countries being drawn into the conflict.
Iranian authorities have termed his killing a “martyrdom” and vowed that such losses will not weaken their resolve. Analysts believe the targeting of high-ranking officials signals a dangerous escalation that could further destabilize the region.
The broader conflict has already resulted in significant casualties, widespread destruction, and growing concerns over global energy security, as strikes continue across key locations in the Gulf and beyond.
