The Government of Sindh has announced a new pro-poor initiative to provide milch animals to financially vulnerable families across the province, aiming to promote economic empowerment and reduce poverty.
Muhammad Ali Malkani stated that the program will especially focus on widows, orphans, and families facing severe financial hardship in all districts of Sindh. The initiative will be guided by poverty status as the primary eligibility criterion.
A province-wide survey will be conducted to collect data from every union council, enabling the government to target the poorest communities and also use the findings for future social welfare programs.
Malkani emphasized that the program will follow strict transparency measures. “No political or social recommendations will be entertained; only genuinely deserving families will receive milch animals,” he said.
The meeting outlining the initiative was attended by senior officials including Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Dr. Kazim Hussain Jatoi, Director Animal Breeding Sindh Dr. Jamaluddin Junejo, DG PPRM Sajid Basit Qadri, CEO SRSO Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro, and Chief Executive TMF Sonu Khanghrani.
The program reflects Sindh’s commitment to social protection and economic sustainability, targeting the most vulnerable families to enhance livelihoods and reduce poverty across the province.
