DC Islamabad ( District Magistrate) has imposed Section 144 in the federal capital, Islamabad, declaring all kinds of public gatherings illegal with immediate effect.
The announcement states that under Section 144, assemblies, protests, rallies, sit-ins and any form of public congregation are strictly prohibited. The decision has been taken to maintain law and order and prevent any potential unrest in the city.
Law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order. Officials warned that anyone found violating the restrictions will face legal action in accordance with the law.
Residents have been advised to cooperate with authorities and avoid organizing or participating in public gatherings until further notice.
This decision has been taken after charged protests in Karachi, Skardu & Lahore and clashes of protesters with the police and the reported death in Karachi.
