Several people were injured on Sunday after clashes erupted between police and protesters on MT Khan Road as a large crowd attempted to march towards the US Consulate. The demonstration was held in response to reports claiming that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed in a joint US-Israeli air strike.
According to officials, tensions escalated when protesters tried to move past security barricades placed along key routes leading to the diplomatic enclave. Police resorted to tear gas to disperse the crowd after demonstrators allegedly refused to comply with instructions and attempted to push through sealed roads.
Witnesses reported chaotic scenes in the area as protesters chanted slogans condemning the alleged strike and demanded accountability. Several individuals sustained injuries during the confrontation, though authorities have not yet released an official count.
