Pakistan Air Defence Shoots Down Two Drones Near Faizabad, Islamabad Airspace Temporarily Closed

Two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down by Pakistan’s air defence systems near the Faizabad area, located at the junction of Rawalpindi and the federal capital Islamabad, according to senior Pakistani officials.
Authorities confirmed that the drones were detected while flying in the airspace close to the Faizabad interchange, a key point connecting the twin cities. Air defence units responded promptly and successfully neutralized both aerial objects.
Following the incident, officials temporarily closed the airspace over Islamabad as a precautionary measure. Security agencies are currently assessing the situation and investigating the origin and purpose of the drones.
