Rawalpindi, February 21: Authorities have discovered the presence of hundreds of Afghan nationals in Pakistan’s family tree records, prompting the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to launch a decisive operation against suspected individuals holding fraudulent Pakistani identity cards.
According to NADRA sources, notices have been issued to 833 individuals in Rawalpindi, instructing them to appear within seven days for verification. The suspects are alleged to have used falsified documents to register themselves in the family trees of Pakistani citizens.
NADRA has contacted these individuals via phone calls and messages to inform them of the operation. Officials said that those who fail to present themselves will have their Pakistani citizenship revoked.
The operation is part of a broader crackdown on identity fraud, aiming to maintain the integrity of Pakistan’s citizen registry and prevent misuse of official records.
