A fire broke out at Ras Laffan Industrial City after an alleged Iranian attack, authorities in Qatar confirmed on Thursday.
Officials said the incident occurred at one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, with flames and heavy smoke visible across the industrial zone. Emergency services responded swiftly, working to bring the situation under control and prevent further damage.
While no casualties have been officially reported so far, authorities stated that all necessary safety measures were immediately enforced to secure workers and infrastructure.
The development adds to rising tensions in the region and could have significant implications for global energy markets, given the strategic importance of Ras Laffan in LNG production and export.
