Tehran: Iran has officially confirmed the assassination of senior security official Ali Larijani, stating that he was killed along with his son in a targeted airstrike amid the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to Iranian authorities, Larijani—who served as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and was considered one of the most powerful figures in the country—was killed in what officials described as a deliberate strike. His son and several close associates also lost their lives in the attack.
The assassination marks a major escalation in the conflict, as Larijani was a key figure in Iran’s political and security establishment, playing a central role in strategic decision-making during the ongoing war.
