China’s foreign minister has told his Iranian counterpart that Beijing supports Iran in defending its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, according to state media. The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following recent military exchanges involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
During the diplomatic conversation, China reiterated its opposition to the use of force and called for respect for international law and the United Nations Charter. Beijing urged all parties to exercise restraint and resolve disputes through dialogue to prevent further escalation.
The remarks highlight China’s continued emphasis on political solutions and its position against actions that could destabilise the region further.
