London: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has urged the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to investigate reports that Indian-owned franchises in The Hundred may deliberately exclude Pakistani players.

Political tensions between Pakistan and India have already limited bilateral cricket encounters, keeping Pakistani players out of the IPL. A BBC report said four Indian-owned franchises in next month’s player auction may overlook over 50 Pakistani cricketers who expressed interest.

While the ECB has not commented yet, it stated that The Hundred welcomes players from all countries and expects teams to maintain diversity. Last year, only Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim represented Pakistan in the league.
