Wahi Pandhi is a town located in Taluka Johi, District Dadu. With a population of over fifty thousand, the town is served by only a single government-appointed doctor. Despite the presence of more than ten private clinics in the area, the government hospital has been staffed with just one MBBS doctor.
Wahi Pandhi functions as a healthcare hub for several surrounding areas. Unfortunately, since the 1990s, only one medical officer’s position has been sanctioned at the government health centre.
For decades, local residents have been forced to rely on private healthcare facilities due to the severe shortage of government medical staff. As a result, essential health services remain inaccessible to low-income citizens.
It is strongly urged that the higher authorities in the Health Department take immediate measures to address the shortage of doctors in Wahi Pandhi, ensuring that basic healthcare facilities are available to the people of the region.
